Support For ESX Yet?

I have seen in various places suggestions that the VIX API will work with ESX at some point, more specifically that 1.1.4 will work with ESX. I have pulled down 1.1.4 and, well, nothing appears to work - i'm assuming this is the whole glibc issue again? Is anyone able to confirm whether 1.1.4 works (or should work) with ESX? The documentation only covers up to version 1.1.3.
